9.26.2014 - Rise and Shine: Smoothie and Juice Workshop (10:00AM - 11:00AM)
Come with an empty stomach as we whip up sippers using fresh greens, colorful fruits and a mix of superfood ingredients. Participants will learn the difference between juice and smoothies and the health benefits of each, see how the blending and juicing tools work and, of course, enjoy samples of these nutritious and delicious liquids. 10.2.2014-10.6.2014 - Friends of the Library Annual Used Book Sale
Browse thousands of gently-used items at the Friends of the Green Tree Public Library Annual Used Book Sale. Held at the Green Tree Municipal Center, this fundraiser and community event will kick off with the Friends of the Library Preview Sale on Thursday, October from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Obtain a Friends membership year-round in the library or on the night of the Preview Sale. The sale debuts to the general public on Friday, October 3 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and continues on Saturday, October 4 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. There will be a bag sale on Sunday, October 5 from noon until 4 p.m. and another bag sale on Monday, October 6 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Look for blue light specials throughout the sale. Not only will a vast selection of hardback and paperback titles be available for purchase, but also vintage books, music, videos, books on CD and more. Most items will be priced at just one dollar. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted as payment. The Green Tree Municipal Center, a facility with plenty of free parking, is located at 10 West Manilla Avenue, right off the Parkway West.
10.7.2014 - First Time Homebuyer Workshop (7:00PM - 8:00 PM : Adult Ages 18 and up)
Buying a home can be a stressful experience, but if you're in the market, then join us for an evening with Berkshire Hathaway and friends for a round-robin discussion on what it takes to buy a home, how to best utilize the funds you have, and what opportunties (and struggles) that may present themselves along the way. Experts will be on hand to answer questions and help make sense of the homebuying experience. This program is for adults ages 18 and up. Registration is required. Click HERE to register.
