Did you know that June 5th is World Environment Day? Founded in 1974 by the United Nations and celebrated annually, World Environment Day is used to encourage awareness for the protection of the environment and action on environmental issues such as global warming, marine pollution and sustainable consumption. Over 140 countries participate with a different country hosting official celebrations and events focusing on a theme. The theme of 2018’s World Environment Day is Beat Plastic Pollution and the celebration will be hosted in India.
