Green Tree Public Library is proud to announce that it has been named an American Star Library by Library Journal, the oldest and most respected professional library publication, for the fifth time since 2008. The LJ Index of Public Library Service reviewed data on over 7,500 libraries across the country and narrowed their selection down to the top 258 libraries that are delivering exceptional service. America’s Star Libraries offers an overall indication of how a library’s performance stacks up to peer libraries, taking into account such measures as computer usage, circulation, program attendance and library visits.
Green Tree Public Library was the only library in the state of Pennsylvania to earn the Star Library distinction. Additionally, the library moved from a three-star ranking to a four-star ranking as a result of major increases in attendance at library programs, along with increases in circulation and visits.
