Would you like to take an owl prowl? How would you like to a look behind the scenes at Heinz Field or PPG Paints Arena? How do you feel about getting free admission to a local museum? You could do all of this and more for FREE at this year’s RADical Days!
The Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD) supports and finances regional assets in the area of libraries, parks and trails, sports and civic facilities, and arts and culture programs. RAD receives one-half of the proceeds from the one percent Allegheny County Sales and Use Tax. The other half goes directly to the county and municipal governments. Since 1995 and through 2019, the 1% county sales tax paid by residents of and visitors to Allegheny County is expected to result in a more than $3.9 billion investment in our region!
RADical Days is an annual event celebrating these assets with free admission, musical and dance performances and activities offered by arts and culture organizations, parks and recreation, and sports and regional attractions that are funded by RAD. RADical Days 2019 will take place September 19 – October 13. Click here for the event list of dates and details or visit the library to pick up a brochure. Throughout RADical Days, county libraries will offer special activities; visit ACLA’s website for more information.
Did you know that libraries are RAD’s largest grant category at 31%? RAD funds 45 independent libraries (some with branches) throughout the county plus the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh with its 18 branches. Green Tree Public Library is extremely grateful to be a recipient of RAD funds!
We hope that you enjoy 25 days of the outstanding parks, sports facilities, arts and culture, and libraries that our county has to offer during the 2019 celebration of RADical Days.
