How to Get Started Camping

May 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Have you ever wanted to go camping but been overwhelmed or nervous about trying it for the first time? Or maybe you did go camping but it was a disaster? At this program our librarian, life-long camper, and former Girl Scout, Emily will teach the basics of family camping. Family camping, also known as car camping, usually takes place in a campground and is a great way to rough it without going too far out of your comfort zone. She will bring in camping gear for you to touch and to talk about what you really need and what you don’t. Emily will also touch on backpacking and back country camping if time permits. This program is for adults and older teens. Registration is required.
