How would you like to prowl for owls, visit the Andy Warhol Museum, learn about Wonder Woman, tour Heinz Field and listen to a brass band perform – all at no cost? You can with this year’s RADical Days!
The Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD) supports and finances regional assets in the area of libraries, parks and trails, sports and civic facilities, and arts and culture programs. RAD receives one-half of the proceeds from the one percent Allegheny County Sales and Use Tax. The other half goes directly to the county and municipal governments.
RADical Days is an annual event celebrating the assets with free admission, musical and dance performances and family activities offered by arts and culture organizations, parks and recreation, and sports and regional attractions that are funded by RAD. RADical Days 2017 will take place September 22-October 15. Click here for the event list of dates and details or stop into the library to pick up a brochure. Join the email alert list for announcements about RADical Days 2017. You can also follow RAD and RADical Days announcements on Facebook and Twitter @radworkshere.
Did you know that libraries are RAD’s largest grant category at 31%? RAD funds 46 independent libraries (some with branches) throughout the county plus the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh with its 18 branches. Green Tree Public Library is extremely grateful to be a recipient of RAD funds!
We hope that you’ll enjoy the outstanding libraries, parks, sports facilities, and arts and culture organizations our county has to offer during the 16th celebration of RADical Days.
