Libby is the brand new app from OverDrive Labs for reading ebooks and listening to audiobooks. This new app, available for your phone or tablet, can be downloaded in the Apple Store, Google Play or Microsoft (for Windows10 +). Libby provides you access to the exact same collection of digital books and audiobooks as the OverDrive app. Libby simplifies and brings joy to every aspect of digital borrowing and reading. If you love this new app, you can use it instead of the OverDrive app. To get started, download the app and open. Select Green Tree Public Library for your library and type your library card number to log in. Here is a sneak peak of Libby!
Take a look:
You can browse by various genres. For searching, tap the search bar at the top of the screen and tap MORE for advanced searching.
Tags help you organize titles you’ve read, want to read, loved, or hated. They’re for your personal use (and not shared with your library or OverDrive). You can add as many tags to each title as you like. Tap Tags on a title’s details page and select one from the list. Create your own tags (including emoji tags) by tapping. Find all your tags on the Tags screen of your Shelf. From there, you can tap a tag to view it, rename it, delete it, or untag titles.
Libby is currently only available in English. The OverDrive app is still available and is actually compatible with more devices (Kindle Fire, PCs). The OverDrive app also allows a few more options such as recommending purchases, however these are to be added to Libby in the future. Visit the Libby Help Page for more information.
