On Wednesday, May 3, the library received our new computers! All of our computers are now upgraded. We have 12 desktops, 5 laptops and 1 desktop for the online public access catalog. Two of the desktops have 22 inch large monitors with webcam and are located near the entrance facing the front doors. If you play computer games, you may like to try the large monitor. In addition to the high speed internet connection, those 12 desktops and 5 laptops are equipped with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Access. Also, we offer printing for a fee of $.15 for black and white and $.50 for color.
To use a computer at the library, you must have a valid library card within Allegheny County. If you don’t yet have a card, or your card needs to be updated (the library updates library cards every 2 years), visit the library and present your photo ID and current proof of address. If juveniles (under 18 years old), are able to write their names, they can get their own card! A guardian needs to be present with his/her photo ID and current proof of address.
Stop by the library and enjoy our new computers!
