A group of very lucky kids just built their very first model rockets here at the library the past few days. They each built a rocket from a kit, learned about safety, the history of model rocketry and then launched their rockets using real black powder engines. Model rocketry is a fun and rewarding hobby for all ages. Done properly, it’s safe and a great way to learn about engineering, math and science of flight. Here are some books to check out if you’d like to learn more about rocketry, from little bottle rockets all the way up to manned spaceflight.
