Everybody loves a good book even our furry friends! Join the library and our special dog friends for an afternoon of book reading and animal loving! Trained therapy dogs will be in the children’s section of the library waiting for you to come read to them! Students in Kindergarten – Grade 12 can register to be the readers and the dogs will be their audience! In fact, students will be able to select their own library book to read to a dog (or bring one from home) and the dogs will listen and be entertained. Participants must enjoy dogs and be willing to practice their reading skills, but all levels of reading fluency are welcome. While students are waiting for their turn with a dog they will be able to make thank you cards to give to our patient listeners and handlers. Registration is required.
The therapy dogs and their caregivers will visit the library on Mondays, December 19, January 16, and February 20. Families may register for all sessions.
