Raising a Reader in a Digital World

January 15 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

As much as we want our children to be avid readers the truth is that tablets, computers, gaming consoles, phones and television all compete for your child’s attention. You may be wondering how to make sure your child develops a love of reading. You may also be wondering how to deal with the reality of screen time. How much is too much? Is it all the same? Are they not using technology enough? It’s a lot for any parent to handle. During this one hour workshop we will cover the basics of screen time and its impact on child development as well as give you practical tools to take home to your family. This workshop is intended for any adult who spends time caring for a child. Parents, grandparents, nannies and more are welcome. However, children will not find the content engaging and we ask that you do not bring them along. Registration is required.
